Kastrychnitski District Executive Committee of Hrodna has problems with arithmetic
13 representatives of the Belarusian Leftist Party Fair World, 8 representatives of the Belarusian Popular Front, 7
representatives of the Belarusian Social Democratic Hramada and 14
representatives of the United Civil Party were nominated to the precinct
election commissions (PECs) of the Kastrychnitski district of Hrodna.
According to the information that was voiced at the sitting of the
Kastrychnitski District Executive Committee (DEC), political parties and NGOs
nominated 366 representatives to the commissions. 294 persons were nominated by
collectives of institutions and enterprises and 432 – by collecting electors’
signatures. The total number of the nominees that was announced is 1,196
(though after summing all previous numbers we get just 1,092).
Thus, the number of the nominees doesn’t match the total number that was
announced at the sitting. The observer Raman Yurhel turned the attention of the
present people to this fact. However, the Chairperson of the Kastrychnitski DEC
Siarhei Patsevich answered that one could count everything at home, taking the
numbers from the DEC website. The total number of the people who were included
in the commissions is 811.
The sitting lasted for 50 minutes, the numbers of the PECs and the surnames of the candidates who
were included in them were announced (but their places of work and official
positions were not). The present representatives of pro-governmental
organizations demonstrated their dissent at the question about non-inclusion of
representatives of democratic political parties asked by the Chairperson of the
local branch of the Belarusian Popular Front Vadzim Saranchukou.
The exact number of representatives of opposition parties that were included in
the PECs
remains unknown. We learned only that the representative of the Belarusian
Social Democratic Hramada Yury Kazak was included in PEC #104.
