Smarhon: quota in precinct commissions is not spread on representatives of opposition
On 3 November the
Smarhon District Executive Committee formed the precinct election commissions
in the district.
Two representatives of the Belarusian Popular Front and one representative of
the Belarusian Social Democratic Party Hramada
were nominated to the commissions, but none of them were included in the
commissions.
The participants of the sitting of the executive committee voted separately
against each of these three candidacies and unanimously decided not to include
them.
The present human rights defender Ales Dzerhachou asked why no representatives
of opposition parties were included in the precinct commissions (for instance,
the representative of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party Hramada – a constructive and qualified
woman), and was answered that it hadn’t been proposed by the district executive
committee.
