Svetlahorsk: 2 democratic representatives in 60 precinct commissions
The Svetlahorsk District
Executive Committee included in the precinct election commissions (PECs) of the
district only 2 out of the 22 representatives of democratic forces. No representatives of the
Belarusian Popular Front were included because the minutes about their
nomination to the commissions allegedly contained a mistake.
The authorities included in the commissions 2 out of 10 nominees of the
Belarusian Leftist Party Fair World.
In particular, the pensioner Iryna Sarychava was included in the Maladziozhny
PEC #12 and the entrepreneur Siarhei Zavaratsen was included in the Lamanousauski
PEC #29. The former covers the old blocks inhabited by pensioners and the
latter is situated on the town outskirts. By the way, all nominees of Fair World were also nominated to the
commissions by collection of signatures of electors.
9 other democratic activists were nominated to the PECs by collecting signatures as well, and
weren’t included in them either.
