Miory: collector of signatures receives phone threats
According
to the member of the campaign team of Vital Rymasheuski Iryna Valter, on 4 November
she received a phone call from an unidentified man. He stated that she needed
to urgently take away from the district executive committee the signatures that
had been collected in favor of Mr. Rymasheuski and threatened her with trouble
at work otherwise.
Though her phone has an automatic number identifier, the telephone number wasn’t
identified by it. The woman answered that he had wrong information, as she looked
after her children instead of working, that’s why she couldn’t have any
trouble. He proposed that they met somewhere, but she refused. Than he said
that he warned her about unpleasant consequences. When she asked who he was he
put down the receiver.
Now I.Valter is preparing an application to the Miory District Election
Commission concerning this fact. She is also going to obtain from the local
communications center a printout of the telephone calls to her telephone
number.
Iryna Valter also reminds that several electors revoked their signatures in
support of Vital Rymasheuski. Iryna asked one of them whether she had only
signed the application for revoking the signature, or had to write it. The
woman answered that she had only signed it, which means that somebody had come
to her with a prepared text of the application.
Iryna Valter asked the woman to write the application that she had been forced
to revoke her signature, but the letter refused saying she was afraid that the
authorities would deprive her of the pension
