Hrodna: observers prevented from observing verification of signatures
The observers that were
accredited at the territorial commissions of Hrodna receive runarounds from the
Hrodna Region Election Commission and the Central Election Commission. The
observers Viktar Dzesiatsik, Uladzimir Khilmanovich, Sviatlana Rudkouskaya,
Viktar Sazonau and Raman Yurhel received answers in which the election
commissions refer to part 4 of Article 13 of the Electoral Code and allege that
the presence of observers during the verification of signatures is not provided
by the electoral legislation.
’Viktar Dzesiatsik observers the election in the Svislach district, Valery
Petrykevich – in the Dziatlava district, Liavon Karpovich – in the Vaukavysk
district, Uladzimir Khilmanovich – in the Hrodna district, Ivan Kurcheuski – in
the Berastavitsa district, Ivan Sheha – in the Slonim district, Raman Yurhel,
Viktar Sazonau – in the Kastrychnitski district of Hrodna and Sviatlana
Rudkouskaya – in the Leninski district of Hrodna. None of them were admitted to
observing the verification of the signatures, which witness the absence of
transparency of the electoral process,’ comments Viktar Sazonau.
