Results of verification of signatures in support of potential candidates (information from regions…)
Slutsk district
On 5 November the Slutsk District Election
Commission announced the results of the verification of the signature sheets
that had been passed to it by the campaign teams of the potential candidates
for President of Belarus.
The greatest number of signatures was passed by the campaign team of
A.Lukashenka – 12,852. The commission verified 2,570 signatures, 12 of which
(0.5%) of which were found invalid.
The campaign team of Uladzimir Niakliayeu had passed to the commission 1,627
signatures, 1,610 of which were declared valid. Invalid were found 16
signatures in support of Yaraslau Ramanchuk, - he has 1,408 valid signatures.
Ales Mikhalevich has 1,341 and Ryhor Kostuseu – 1,179 valid signatures. 997 out
of 1,006 signatures in support of Andrei Sannikau were declared valid as well.
Subject to additional verification were signatures in
support of Vital Rymasheuski and Viktar Tsiareshchanka. As a result 2 out of 42
signatures in support of Rymasheuski and 16 out of 17 signatures in support of
Tsiareshchanka were found valid.
The sitting was attended by two observers and a journalist of the regional
newspaper Infa-Kur’er.
Pinsk
The Pinsk City Election Commission summed up the results of the
verification of signatures on 6 November. According to the information that was
voiced by the Chairperson, no invalid signatures were discovered only in the
signature lists of Uladzimir Niakliayeu. Aliaksandr Lukashenka has 13 invalid
signatures, Ales Mikhalevich – about 2% out of the total number of the passed
signatures, and Ryhor Kastusiou – even more than 14%. Most mistakes were made
by collectors of signatures during filling the signature sheets. Some residents
of Pinsk also
applied to the commission to revoke their signatures (most of them had signed
in support of Viktar Tsiareshchanka).
The sitting was attended by observer Viktar Yarashuk, who received an
appropriate invitation in advance.
Drahichyn
About 9,000 signatures were collected in support of A.Lukashenka in
Drahichyn, and 6 of them were found invalid. No defects were discovered in the
signature sheets of Ryhor Kostuseu, Uladzimir Niakliayeu and Uladzimir Sannikau.
Officers of the Drahichyn District Executive Committee were surprised to find
that as many as 348 people had signed in support of Uladzimir Niakliayeu.
Biaroza district
The Biaroza District Election Commission held a sitting concerning the
verification of the signatures in support of the potential candidates for
president.
The observers Siarzhuk Rusetski and Tamara Shchapiotkina received invitations
to the event. According to the announced information, the commission found
invalid 5 out of 1,633 signatures in support of Uladzimir Niakliayeu and 23 out
of 10,572 signatures in support of Aliaksandr Lukashenka. There weren’t found
any invalid signatures in the signature sheets of Ryhor Kostuseu, Aliaksei
Mikhalevich, Yaraslau Ramanchuk, Vital Rymasheuski, Andrei Sannikau and Viktar
Tsiareshchanka.
Zhodzina
On 7 November the Zhodzina Town Election Commission held a sitting to sum
up the results of the verification of signatures. The commission conducted
additional verification of signatures in support of Mikalai Statkevich, Ryhor
Kostuseu and Viktar Tsiareshchanka. As a result, all signatures in support of
Kostuseu and Statkevich were annulled, as the number of invalid signatures
among those that had been selected for verification exceeded 15% (15.8% out of
395 signatures in support of Statkevich and 30.4% out of 158 – in support of
Kostuseu).
No invalid signatures were found in the signature sheets of Vital Rymasheuski
and Andrei Sannikau. 2 signatures in the signature sheets of A.Lukashenka,
A.Mikhalevich and Ya.Ramanchuk, and 10 signatures in support of Uladzimir
Niakliayeu were found invalid.
Thus, the commission announced the number of signatures in support of each
candidate that were found valid:
A.Lukashenka – 6,192, U.Niakliayeu – 2,204, A.Mikhalevich – 1,293,
V.Tsiareshchanka – 1,240, Ya.Ramanchuk – 746, A.Sannikau – 700, and
V.Rymasheuski – 131.
Orsha (town and district)
On 7 November the Orsha town and the Orsha district election commissions
held sittings to sum up the results of the verification of signatures. Almost
all signatures in support of all potential candidates were found valid.
The only incident took place during the sitting of the Orsha Town Election
Commission that ‘lost’ more than 600 signatures in support of Dzmitry Us.
However, the mistake was corrected after the commission recounted the
signatures on demand of the members of his campaign team Natallia Artsiomenka
and Mikalai Zakharau.
