The newspaper of the Slonim District Executive Committee Slonimski Vesnik didn’t write anything about the collection of signatures for the nomination of presidential candidates. However, on 10 November it suddenly published as many as three articles in the column Election-2010 in its front page.

One of the titles is quite eloquent – Representatives of Opposition Have No Chance. According to this article, an oppositional candidate has no chance to win at the presidential election. The authors refers to the sociological poll that was held by the analytical center EcooM in October 2010, according to which 81% of citizens of Belarus expressed the opinion that Aliaksandr Lukashenka will retain the presidential position. The journalists gladly accede to this opinion, ‘forgetting’ to ask whether these 81% would like to have Mr. Lukashenka as President.
