New information about composition of precinct election commissions
Orsha district
The analysis of the personnel of the PECs of the Orsha
district shows that there is the greatest representation of the Belarusian
Union of Women in them – its nominees were included in 38 out of 43
commissions. There are representatives of the Belarusian republican association
of veterans in 35 PECs,
and representatives of the Trade Union of Agricultural Industry – in 34.
Somebody may also start thinking that there’s an Academy
of Science somewhere in the fields of
the Orsha district – there are 28 representatives of the Trade Union of Research
Workers in the PECs.
The Belarusian Republican Union has 27 representatives there and Belaya Rus – 18.
The number of oppositionists, however, is limited to two representatives of the
Belarusian Leftist Party Fair World.
The PECs of the town of Orsha held their organizational sittings
these days. All of them followed the same scenario – they were opened by a
representative of the Orsha Town Executive Committee who proposed the
candidacies of the commission chairperson, deputy chairperson and secretary. As
a rule, the commissions voted for these candidacies without any discussion. Meanwhile,
most of these candidates also occupied such positions during the previous
election. There are many schoolmasters, heads of enterprises and state
institutions among them.
There are just 8 representatives of the opposition in the PECs of Orsha: 7
members of the Fair World and 1
member of the United Civil Party. All of them were invited to the
organizational sittings, but none were elected to the aforementioned
administrative positions.
Baranavichy
On 9 November 2010 the state-owned newspaper Nash Krai published the lists of members of precinct election
commissions that differ greatly from the ruling of the Baranavichy Town
Executive Committee on the formation of the commissions. In particular, according
to the ruling PEC #6 has 12 members, and 24 – according to the newspaper
publication, and PEC #27 – 13 (12 according to the newspaper). There are also
mistakes in the list of PEC #39.
