Another person charged of assaults on Russian Embassy and bank
Maksim
Vetkin, who had been detained on 4 November in Minsk, was presented charges in
the assault on the Embassy of the Russian Federation on 30 August and the
assault on the Belarubank in the
night of 30 April – 1 May. Thus, Maksim Vetkin became the third person charged
of the hooligan assaults that had been committed this year in Salihorsk and
different parts of Minsk.
As we informed earlier, all assaults were combined in one criminal case under
Article 339, part 2 of the Criminal Code, ‘hooligan actions by a group of
individuals’. The two other accused are Mikalai Dziadok and Aliaksandr
Frantskevich, who are also kept in custody.
According to belarus.indymedia.org , on 11 November Mikalai Dziadok was transferred
from the pre-trial prison in Valadarski
Street in Minsk
to Zhodina. The reasons for the transfer aren’t known yet. The term of the
detention of Mr. Dziadok was extended to 6 February 2011.
Aliaksandr Frantskevich (whose detention term was extended as well) and Maksim
Vetkin are still kept in the pre-trial prison in Valadarski Street.
