Ryhor Kryvitski, Mazyr activist of Andrei Sannikau’s campaign team, has lodged a complaint with the Central Election Committee and Mazyr district executive committee, arguing that the decision by local authorities on canvassing procedures violates the Electoral Code, since it considerably restrains opportunities for maintaining an efficient political campaign in the district.
The activist urges Mazyr authorities to bring their decision in accordance with Article 45 of the Electoral Code and amend the list of authorized canvassing venues, with due respect to their location and popularity.
Mr. Kryvitski stresses that some of the town’s areas have no authorized canvassing locations at all.
