OSCE long-term observers visit Belarusian regions
OSCE long-term observers Hilde Katrine Haug and Shota Khujade paid a working visit to Pinsk and Hrodna. During their visit, they held meetings with representatives of local executive authorities, territorial election commissions, candidates’ campaign teams and independent observers.
The meetings dealt with the progress of the current election campaign. Representatives of alternative candidates said that this year the beginning of the campaign had certain positive changes as compared to the previous elections. However, the canvassing restrictions imposed by local authorities severely limit the equality of the candidates’ opportunities.
The mission representatives are also expected to visit other Belarusian regions, including the towns of Luninets, Stolin, Ivanava, Drahichyn (Brest region).
