Pro-dem campaign headquarters call for increase of canvassing locations in Hrodna and Baranavichy
Hrodna election staffers, including Yury Istomin, activist of Yaraslau Ramanchuk’s campaign team, and Dzmitry Bandarchuk, representative of Uladzimir Niakliayeu’s headquarters, addressed the city executive committee with a request to review its decision on authorized canvassing venues. The activists believe the list considerably restrains free and wide access to voters.
In his request, Mr. Istomin refers to the positive example of Minsk, whose authorities liberalized canvassing regulations in the city.
Similar demands were lodged with Baranavichy territorial election commission and the Central Election Commission. The local campaign activists call for review of decision on authorized canvassing locations. The only premises mentioned in the decision can only seat 100 persons, which, according to the activists, is not sufficient for holding election meetings.
