Yarmoshyna: there can be no equal conditions for an unemployed and President
The Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Vadzim Ipatau has given an expert evaluation to the appeals of Siarhei Kaliakin and Halina Samdzianava.
He is convinced that Aliaksandr Lukashenka did not
break the Electoral Code, as he did not involve his subordinates or persons who
depend on him in any other official way into the activity aimed at nomination
and (or) election of a candidate, in their working time. ‘Aliaksandr Lukashenka's representatives did not conduct any agitation
activity during the event’, he said.
Tatsiana Protska, who represents Uladzimir Niakliayeu in
the Central Election Commission, has turned the CEC's attention to the fact that
Aliaksandr Lukashenka broke another provision of Article 73 of the Electoral
Code, according to which the use of the premises that are occupied by state
authorities and organizations for activity aimed at the nomination and
(or) election of a candidate is forbidden if other candidates do not have an
opportunity to use these premises on equal conditions.
’An
unemployed candidate and President cannot be in equal conditions!’,
replied Lidzia Yarmoshyna.
Predictably, the Central Election Commission didn’t grant the appeal of Siarhei
Kaliakin and Halina Siamidzianava on cancellation of Aliaksandr Lukashenka's
registration as a presidential candidate.
