Orsha officials try to deceive OSCE observers
The meeting of members
of the electoral teams of democratic candidates with OSCE observers in Orsha
left interesting impressions. According to the international observers, officials
of the Orsha Town Executive Committee said that only one of them had been
included in the town election commission. In fact, there are two of them: Ina
Khamutouskaya, executive officer of the Orsha TEC, and Aleh Smirnouski –
Chairperson of the department of youth affairs.
The meeting of the OSCE observers with the regional mass media brought even
more moving news: the state-owned Arshanskaya
Hazeta and the private TV Company SKIF
and newspaper Telecom-express said
nothing about the electoral meetings of the candidates Kastusiou, Niakliayeu
and Rymasheuski with residents of Orsha because they weren’t invited to them. Of
course, they couldn’t come to the meetings on their own, and the oral invitation
made by the electoral team of Uladzimir Niakliayeu doesn’t count here. They can
come to such events only on a written invitation. It’s quite strange that such
modesty and shyness of these mass media manifest only towards opposition candidates.
