A lawyer Pavel Sapelka had a meeting with the political prisoner Mikalai Autukhovich at the Ivatsevichy colony. The lawyer didn’t see Autukhovich’s ward for several months before the meeting.

‘He became even thinner. The main problem is that Autukhovich doesn’t have his teeth attended to at all, though he was promised that the treatment that was supposedly started during his stay in the pretrial prison in Minsk would be continued in the colony. But this didn’t happen. On the whole, he is being pressurized at full scale.

Mr. Autukhovich hasn’t received any prosthodontic treatment and the prison administration refused to apply amnesty to him. They try to make him plead guilty, sign an obligation to behave obediently and take part in amateur art activities in prison. He refuses and, consequently, is considered to be a troublemaker, although this is not true,’ said the lawyer.

According to Pavel Sapelka, various provocations against Mikalai Autukhovich are arranged in the colony. This is done by some prisoners, possibly on the order of the administration with the aim to make his stay in the colony unbearable and/or accuse him of violating the prison regime.
Mr. Sapelka has addressed human rights defenders in connection with this.

‘I address human rights organizations and ask them to apply to national and international organizations within the framework of their powers and competence, with the aim to  The aim is to make the Department for punishment execution stop violating the rights of the illegally convicted Mikalai Autukhovich,’ the lawyer stressed.
