Offender of Rymasheuski’s electioneering agent comes off clear
The bully who tore away the campaign posters that were
displayed in the authorized locations and tried to beat Vital Rymasheuski’s
electioneering agent Valeryia Charnamortsava, was detained over a week ago, but
still hasn’t been brought to a trial. Itself the victim this time not only not
invited to the court of the Soviet district of the capital, which must review
the case, but also to hide from her name forward.
As reported by the website of the Belarusian
Christian Democracy, on 3 December an unknown man attacked her while she was
posting the electoral leaflets near the crossing of Surhanau and Bahdanovich
streets. He tried to hit Valeryia and she called the police in response. As a
result, the molester was arrested.
’The detention report was composed by the police officer
Ihar Martsinkouski. It was Friday, and he promised me that the offender would
be tried on Monday or Tuesday. I have phoned to the Savetski District Police
Department many times since then, and each time I was answered that the trial
was postponed to a later time or that the speaker didn’t know anything about
it.’ According to the woman, during the last days it has become impossible to
reach Mr. Martsinkouski or his bosses. She doesn’t rule out that the policemen
are hiding from her, because they don’t want to bear any responsibility for a
case that has a direct relation to politics.
’At the same time’, says V.Charnamortsava,
unknown persons in civilian clothes continue tearing down the agitation
leaflets of the candidate in the Savetski district of Minsk. None of them have
been caught so far. ‘I have the impression that some people destroy the
agitation materials on a special order, and one of them tried to assault me,’
says the activist. ‘If this is the case, then it’s clear why the police hide
him from the court,’ She is convinced that the detainee was let go and
continues violating the electoral legislation, as all agitation leaflets have
disappeared in the Savetski district. Valiantsina is outraged that the police
didn’t even tell her the surname of the detainee, though she insisted on it.
