Barysau: workers of BATE plant ask for notices confirming their early voting
The observers of the For Freedom movement and the Belarusian
Helsinki Committee who observed the early election at precinct election
commission #7, located in secondary school #16 of the town of Barysau,
witnessed a strange thing.
The workers of the BATE plant asked
the precinct election commission members to issue them with notices confirming
the fact of early voting, though the commission doesn’t have a right to issue
such documents.
When the observers asked them about the reasons, the workers answered that they
had an order from the director general of the enterprise, Anatol Kapski.
Meanwhile, in the recent answer of the Central Election Commission to the
complaint of a human rights defender Aleh Matskevich concerning an unlawful
electoral meeting with Lukashenka’s electioneering agent Anatol Kapski it was
stated that he was on vacation since 1 December. Has he returned to work so
quickly just to make his subordinates vote early?
