Siarhei Parsiukevich detained ‘on suspicion of murder’
Siarhei Parsiukevich was
detained at the Vitsebsk bus terminal together with his 16-year-old son
Dzianis. The detainees were informed that they allegedly resembled the persons
who had committed a murder 30 minutes ago.
At first they were taken to the Chyhunachny District Police Department of
Vitsebsk. However, the policemen there didn’t hear anything about any murders.
Then they were guarded to the Kastrychnitski DPD. The boy was asked to wait,
and the father was checked concerning the involvement is some thefts on the
territory of the district.
’They are evidently procrastinating the time,’ says Mr. Parsiukevich, ‘in order
to prevent us from coming to Minsk
today. As we learned, nobody ordered to detain us, but I am made to write some
formal explanations.’
By the way, a group of civil activists from the town of Miyory
didn’t manage to come to Minsk.
Bahuslau Matsuk, an electioneering agent of Vital Rymasheuski, said: ‘I was
driving a car when we were stopped by traffic police while driving out of
Miyory. The policemen said that the technical numbers of the car of the car
didn’t match and therefore they had to detain me. My vehicle passed an official
examination just two weeks ago and there were no pretensions to me. I think
that it’s an attempt to detain us in order to prevent us from coming to the Kastrychnitskaya Square.’
