Baranavichy authorities ignore appeals by local observers
Baranavichy independent observers keep appealing the voting results, by submitting numerous complaints to local election bodies.
According to observers Tatsiana Tsaruk and Zoya Vasko (polling station # 28), the official voter turnout figures exceed the observers’ estimations by over 500 ballots. They also appeal ban to observe the vote count procedures. Apart from that, they argue that the election commissioners failed to publish the vote count results, which is a violation of Par. 2 Art. 55 of the Electoral Code. The observers claim that the election commissioners signed the minutes, being unaware of actual figures.
Larysa Housha, who maintained observation at polling station # 18, says the local election commission failed to publish the vote count results by ballot boxes. However, the election commission chair Baravik refused to register the appeal.
Local human rights defender Siarhei Housha lodged a statement with the Central Election Commission, demanding to investigate the above-mentioned cases.
