A youth activist Dzmitry Fedaruk was arrested for 10 days for participation in the protest action of 19 December. However, he wasn’t released after these ten days. It’s unbelievable, but he will have to serve 8 days of arrest which he hadn’t served for participation in the unauthorized mass action held on 1 May 2008!

The matter is that on 12 May 2008 the activist had been sentenced to 10 days of arrest for the 1 May action, but didn’t serve them. According to Article 13.6 of the Criminal Process Code, the legal term for the implementation of administrative penalties is 3 months. However, in violation of the law Mr. Fedaruk was seized on 28 December 2008 and guarded to the delinquents’ isolation center to serve the arrest. However, he was kept there for 2 days only, after which he was forcedly drafted into the army.

However, the law machinery didn’t ‘forget’ about the remaining eight days and left Mr. Fedaruk in jail, again violating the Criminal Process Code.
