At 8.50 a.m. on 10 January two unidentified people who called themselves KGB officers tried to get into the apartment of the Brest activist Andrei Sharenda. However, he refused to let them in without the local police inspector.

KGB intends to search the apartments rented by the local activists Yury Bakur and Dzmitry Shurkhai. They are taking the owners to these apartments in order to hold the searches there.

At about 10 a.m. they started searching the apartment of Uladzimir Vuyek, the head of the Brest branch of the youth organization of the United Civil Party, Young Democrats.

A search was also conducted at the apartment of a youth activist Artsiom Tserashonak who used to be a member of the Speak Truth civil campaign. Nothing was confiscated as a result. KGB officers also intended to search the apartment of a trade union activist Zinaida Mikhniuk, but didn't manage to find her and decided not to break the door of her apartment. However, there is little chance they will refuse from the intention to conduct a search there.

All searches are held within the framework of the criminal case upon Article 293 of the Criminal Code (mass riot) concerning the events of 19 December.
