Suspect in 'mass riot' case Vasil Parfiankou is kept in pre-trial prison in Valadarski Street
Vasil Parfiankou is another suspect in the criminal
case concerning the 'mass riot' on 19 December 2010 in Minsk.
On 19 December he was among adherents of the presidential candidate Uladzimir
Niakliayeu during his beating in Niamiha
Street. The offenders smashed Parfiankou's nose
and injured his ribs. Later Mr. Parfiankou took part in the protest rally in
front of the House of Government in Nezalezhnastsi
Square, but wasn't arrested. He answered the phone
till 3 January.
He was detained on 4 or 5 January and taken to the pre-trial prison in Valadarski Street
as a suspect in the criminal case.
Vasil Parfiankou is a former member of the unregistered Belarusian Freedom
Party. In 2002 he was one of the defenders of the Kurapaty burial site. He has
been sentenced to different terms of administrative arrest several times. In
August 2010 he was detained and interrogated as a witness in the 'case of
anarchists'.
