Committee to Protect Journalists urges Belarusian authorities to stop pressurizing mass media

The Committee to Protect of Journalists has urged the Belarusian authorities to stop pressure on the Belarusian independent mass media on 11 January, informed the Committee's scientific employee Muzafar Suleimanov to BelaPAN.
Mr. Suleimanov stated that the KGB still raided the
editor's offices, confiscated reporters' equipment from the offices and
apartments of journalists, kept the representatives of the independent and
opposition media in custody, and influenced their families.
The Committee to Protect Journalists is
an independent non-commercial organization with headquarters in New York. It declares
its goals as assistance to the freedom of press in the whole world and
protection of the journalists' right to cover news without fear.
