European Belarus activist Palina Kuryianovich gets fired
Palina Kuryianovich, an activist of the European
Belarus campaign, had to quit her job.
Palina Kuryianovich has worked as a communications technician for a state-owned firm. She went to work today after her holidays. She was told on the phone the manufacturing manager, who is also responsible for ideology, wanted to see her, Palina told charter97.org.
Palina Kuryianovich: ‘The manufacturing manager looked excited and didn’t touch the subject at first. He asked how I had spent my holidays and hen went straight to the issue. He said he knew about my opposition activity and knew it’s too late to change my view. He said I had to start looking for a new job. I hand in a resignation notice by the agreement of the parties. My direct manager refused to sign it, but the signatures of the manufacturing manager and director were enough. I was given a resignation order in twenty minutes.’
