Pukhavichy district: teacher loses her job
Natallia Illinich, the teacher of history at the
secondary school in the town of Talka, can lose her job. Her labor contract
expires on 27 January, and on 11 January the schoolmaster, Natallia Merkul,
told her that the contract won't be extended. Meanwhile, according to the
existing laws, the employers must inform their employees about dismissal in a
month's advance.
Being asked about the reason, the schoolmaster answered that she was afraid to
extend the labor contract to the teacher. There were no violations at work from
the side of Natallia Illinich. However, she is a member of the Belarusian
Popular Front Party and was a member of the electoral team of the presidential
candidate Ryhor Kastusiou. On 5 January her home was searched by KGB officers
who didn't introduce themselves and the head of the criminal investigation
department of the Pukhavichy District Police Department R.Makarau. Several
literary magazines and the system block of the teacher's computer were
confiscated as a result. Now it's harder for Natallia to prepare to the school
classes.
