Yuras Shpak-Ryzhkau, member of the Belarusian Popular Front party and ex-member of Minsk election commission #4 during the 2010 presidential election, has been fired by his employer at the Minharsviatlo state-owned enterprise for alleged absence from work.
The opposition activist was charged with being absent from work between 15 and 17 December, when Mr. Shpak-Ryzhkau was working as a member of the election commission.
The employer also blamed him for not appearing at work on 20 December. However, on that day the activist stood trial for participation in the 19 December post-election rally.
