Dashkevich is 'proposed' to testify against other Young Front activists
In one of his last letters to Nasta Loika Zmitser
Dashkevich wrote about receiving such a proposal during his second
interrogation concerning the events of 19 December for the time of his stay at
the investigative isolator of the Zhodzina prison. The activist also complains
that the guards refused to allow passing him a Bible in the Belarusian language
and that he faced obstacles to sending letters.
According to Nasta Loika, Zmitser Dashkevich was interrogated twice by KGB
officers. During the first time the minutes of the interrogation were composed,
while the second interrogation was more informal and concerned the Young
Front.
At present Zmitser Dashkevich and another Young Front activist, Eduard
Lobau, are charged with malignant hooliganism (according to the police, they
beat a citizen on the eve of the presidential election). In 2006 Dashkevich had
been sentenced to 1.5 years of jail under Article 193.1 of the Criminal Code
(activities on behalf of an unregistered organization), and was granted parole
due to the pressure of the international community.
