At about 7
a.m. on 1 February law-enforcement officers entered the
apartment of Dzmitry Drozd, a member of the electoral team of Andrei Sannikau,
and took him for an interrogation at the Tsentralny District Police Department
of Minsk.
Late in the evening human rights defenders learned that he was detained for
three days and placed to the prison facility in Akrestsin Street as a suspect
in the case under Article 293, part 2, (mass riot), instigated in connection
with the events of 19 December 2010
in downtown Minsk.
