Dzmitry Uss is forced to testify against Mikalai Statkevich
On 4 February the former presidential candidate Dzmitry
Uss was summonsed for the fourth interrogation within the framework of the ‘mass
riot’ criminal case.
‘I told them that I didn’t see any of the presidential candidates take part in
the mass riot and that it all was provoked by secret services. However, they persistently
tried to make me confess that Statkevich and other candidates deliberately
organized bass disturbances and I knew it in advance,’ said Uss.
The KGB officers also asked him about his publishing business and said it would
fall apart in a month in the case he of his imprisonment. ‘They asked me why I
was still in Belarus and
advised me to move to Africa, to Somalia. I answered that my
fatherland was here and I wasn’t going to move anywhere,’ says the candidate.
