Officers of Mahiliou Region KGB Department paid a visit to the working place of a civil activist Pavel Varashylau to interrogate him as a witness in the case of the 19 December ‘mass riot’ in Minsk. KGB officer Aliaksandr Prakapchuk explained that they had to come to Pavel’s work as they had summonsed him by a mailed writ, but he hadn’t come.

‘They asked whether I was at the protest action, whether I knew the leaders of opposition parties and organizations and could cooperate with them on this criminal case. I answered that I didn’t participate in the protest action and didn’t know who of my acquaintances were there,’ said the activist.

The KGB officers also wanted to know what relation he had to such organizations as Maladaya Belarus and Nash Dom. The interrogation lasted for about two hours.
