Vadzim Kabanchuk to be released form Akrestina today
However, the head of Akrestina detention centre threatened to start a criminal case against Vadzim.
A BCD steering committee member, Vadzim Kabanchuk, is
supposed to be released from Akrestina detention centre at 5 p.m. today.
He has served his 10-day sentence for participation in the square-2010.
He was a member of Vital Rymasheuski’ election team during the
presidential election, reports the BCD press service.
Kabanchuk
was detained at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border on Sunday, February 13.
He had to be released yesterday, on February 23. However, the day
Vadzim spent in Ashmyany District Department of the Interior when
policemen tried to accuse him of disobedience to customs officials, was
not included in the term of sentence.
Let us remind you that
Kabanchuk was detained at the border check-point Kamenny Loh at the
Lithuanian border on his way to Belarus. He had about 100 issues of a
newspaper describing the post-election events in Belarus on him. They
were printed by Belarusian activists abroad. Customs officials
confiscated the information materials to conduct an expertise and drew
up a report about it.
