Pensioner from Beshankovichy interrogated by KGB
A policeman came to Valiantsina Harkun’s home and
brought with him a list of questions that he was instructed to ask.
The pensioner has been waiting
for this visit for more than three weeks - after she
received a call from the Minsk KGB. Calls from her telephone were
registered on the Independence
Square at the time of the 19 December protest
rally. This became the reason for the interrogation.
The pensioner confirmed that he hadn’t been invited to the action in Minsk by anyone, had
received any money for participation in the action and hadn’t seen anyone else
getting money for it.
Valiantsina Harkun believes that the action in the Nezalezhnastsi Square was peaceful. That’s
why she put down a comment in the protocol of the interrogation – that she
considered as mass riot the forced dispersal of the demonstration and the
beating of innocent people conducted by the police on 19 December 2010.
