Mahiliou: KGB summons Young Front activist Valiantsin Labachou for interrogation
On 11 March a KGB officer who introduced himself as Andrei Ryhoravich
(he didn't tell his surname) paid a visit to Valiantsin and handed him a writ for an interrogation. However,
it is not specified within the frames of what case the activist was to be
interrogated.
According to the writ, V.Labachou needs to come to Kamsamolskaya Street, 30 in Minsk at 2 p.m. on 12 March.
According to the Mahiliou human rights defender Barys Bukhel, Valiantsin
Labachou has no means to get to Minsk,
as he is unemployed. However, when he told the KGB officer about it, the latter
said that the KGB could possibly organize his transportation to Minsk.
Earlier Labachou had served 7 day-arrest for participation in the solidarity
picket which was held on 16 January in Mahiliou. He appealed the verdict at the
Mahiliou Region Court,
but it was left standing.
Moreover, the KGB has already interrogated him as a witness in the ‘mass riot’
criminal case concerning the events of 19 December in central Minsk.
