Series of preventive mass detentions conducted in Minsk on March 15
The young people the police thought to be connected with the anarchist movement were detained. The majority of them were interrogated because of “the anarchists’ case” last year.
The security agencies were trying to prevent their possible
participation in the action dated for the Day of Unified Actions to
prevent police arbitrariness celebrated on that day, informs the human
rights centre “Vyasna”.
About 15 people had been detained in different Minsk districts since yesterday morning.
The
website belarus.indymedia.org notes that the protocols were drawn up
and that no other actions were conducted with the detained. They were
released after the illegal 10-hour detention. It is also reported that
many of the detained were summoned for preventive conversations in their
local District Departments of the Interior the day before.
