Civil activists are summonsed for “talks” in connection with blast in Minsk tube
On 12 April a social activist Ihar Bahatchyk received
a telephone call. He was invited for a “talk” concerning the yesterday's
terrorist act.
Earlier Mr. Bahatchyk was a figurant of the “case of anarchists”, but all
charges against him were dropped.
He refused to come to the police without an official writ, and was promised to
be served such a document soon.
As we have learned, the police also burst into the apartment of the ecologist
Uladzimir Valodzin, threatening to knock out the entrance door. Valodzin is not
at home, there is only his grandmother there.
According to our information, interrogations of civil activists have also
started in Brest.
In particular, Liudmila Dzianisenka, Chair of the Brest city organization of the Belarusian
Leftist, was “invited” to the local KGB office by a telephone call, allegedly
in connection with the terrorist act.
Human rights defenders call on the
law-enforcement agencies which deal with the investigation of the tragedy not
to create the atmosphere of suspicion and fear, but try to find the real
criminals as quickly as possible.
