The prosecutor has informed Maya Abromchyk that a criminal case has been started against a stranger according to her complaint.
However, the police are not named in the case.
Maya Abromchyk was severely beaten by members of special police troops during the dispersal of Minsk protest action on December 19. She claims that policemen broke her leg. Maya has lodged a complaint in connection with the actions of the police, informs Radio Liberty.
According to the medical examination conducted upon request of the Prosecutor’s Office, it was noted that Maya’s injuries could be caused by an object resembling a baton. Nevertheless, the prosecutor did not pay attention to it.
Maya has already undergone two operations and is in for another one.
