On 27 April, Barysau trade union activist Mikalai Pakhabau received a reply from local authorities denying permission for holding a picket on International Labour Solidarity Day – May 1.
“I did not expect any other reply. The picket is banned. The reason is very vague: due to legal violations in the application. Well, if Barysau authorities have taken such a decision, we are going to protect our right to hold protest rallies in court”, says Mr. Pakhabau.
