One of such cases concerns Viktar Syrytsa, Chair of the Baranavichy Council of the Belarusian Language Society.

In his complaint to Valiantsin Stashynski, Chair of the Baranavichy Town Communications Center, Mr. Syrytsa stated that he maintained an active correspondence with the Polish cultural and educational edition Czasopis, printed in Bialystok. The editorial board of the magazine regularly sends him two copies of the edition. However, lately he has started receiving them in torn envelopes (see the photo).

In his complaint the activist reminded the official that Article 28 of the Constitution guarantees each citizen of Belarus the right to privacy of correspondence and asked to find out who and why controls his correspondence and violates his constitutional rights.
