Asipovichy: what for do KGB and police need confiscated guitar?
Officers of law-enforcement agencies still haven't returned the confiscated guitar, private diaries, drafts of songs and laptop to Ihar Simbirou, an activist of the electoral team of presidential candidate Uladzimir Niakliayeu.
“I keep regularly phoning to the police and the KGB, sometimes even several
times a day”, says Mr. Simbirou. “They keep answering that they would return my
belongings soon. I don't know how much they will procrastinate the time. I
can't understand what relation to the “mass riot” my songs and the laptop
(which contains only recordings of my live performances) can have. Some time
earlier, I filed a complaint with the KGB, but there is still no result. I can
only guess, what for they need my guitar,” commented the activist.
Meanwhile, Ihar Simbirou has been summonsed to interrogations concerning the 19
December post-election protest action in Minsk several times already. That day
he was in the column of Uladzimir Niakliayeu's adherents when it was attacked
by unidentified people in black clothes. He was detained in the night of 19-20
December and served 15-day arrest in the Zhodzina jail.
At the time of his arrest, his apartment was searched. As a result, his laptop,
guitar and diaries were confiscated. They still haven't been returned to him.
At present Mr. Simbirou finishes a documentary concerning the events related to
the rally on Nezalezhnasts Square, which are described from the point of view
of an ordinary participant.
