A famous blogger was punished for “insulting” the head of the Belarusian Union of writers, General Mikalai Charhinets.
The Pershamaiski district court of Minsk sentenced famous blogger Yauheny Lipkovich to a fine of 525,000 rubles for “insulting” head of the Belarusian Union of writers, General Mikalai Charhinets.
Charhinets accused Lipkovich os “intentional denigrating the honour and dignity of a person expressed in a rude form”. Yauheny Lipkovich burnt a book by Charhinets “The Secret of an Oval Office” in Minsk’s Sevastopol Park on March 19, 2011. The blogger was confused by erotic and even pornographic scenes.
As Yauheny Lipkovich told Euroradio, he would appeal against the court decision.
