Council of the EU imposes wider sanctions on Belarus
13 names have been added on “the black list”, no information about economic sanctions is available.
The agency PRIME-TASS informs about it referring to a European source.
The Council of the EU has added 13 names on “the Belarusian black list” – most of them work in the country’s judicial institutions. Thus, there are almost 190 Belarusian officials on this list now.
All of them are forbidden to enter the territory of the European Union. Their banking accounts have to be frozen as soon as they are revealed in European banks. The new sanctions will come into power on Tuesday, after they are published in the EU’s official bulletin.
The agency has not informed whether economic sanctions have been imposed on Belarus. It was reported earlier that the EU was studying the possibility of imposing sanctions on such enterprises as the state concert “Belneftehim”, the group of companies “Triple” and the companies “Beltechexport” and “Belarus Potassium”.
