Dzianis Dashkevich, an activist of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy, intends to hold the first socio-political action in the history of Rahachou on 3 July. According to his plan, several tens of people should come to the center of the town with posters “Where are 500 US dollars?” (the sum of the average wage publicly promised to Belarusian citizens by Aliaksandr Lukashenka).

Several days ago the local KGB returned to Mr. Dashkevich the computer equipment that had been confiscated from him after the presidential election 2010. The officer who returned the computer had a talk with the activist and asked him not to deal with politics till 1 July, without offering any explanations.

Mr. Dashkevich also has a small business. Recently, officers of the tax inspection and the tax police imposed on him several fines as a result of some violations. According to Dzianis, in a private talk they promised to decrease the sum of the fines in case he gave up political activism.
