Tax inspection hounds the Lipkovichs
The tax inspection demands the famous
Belarusian blogger Yauhen Lipkovich and his wife to submit an asset and income
declaration for 2010. Lipkovich received a letter from the tax inspection
office on Monday.
The blogger said in an interview to Polskie
Radio that the tax inspection has the right to require filing a tax
declaration, but neither he nor his wife have faced these demands before. “I
read on the Internet that they constantly demand most opposition politicians to
file asset and income declarations. I have a suspicion that they consider me an
opposition member, though it is not true and has never been true,” he says.
Yauhen Lipkovich is known as a blogger writing about pathologic situations in
the Belarusian reality on his LJ blog. He also burnt in public a book “Secret
of the Oval Office” by pro-Lukashenka writer Mikalai Charhinets, because he
found it pornographic.
