The Barysau authorities failed to send a timely answer
to an address of human rights defender Aleh Matskevich (in the photo) who was
unable to find the ruling #851 About the
order of holding mass events in the Barysau district, though this official
document was to have been published in the press according to the Belarusian
laws.
The address was registered at the Barysau DEC on 21 May. According to the law On Applications of Citizens, the DEC
officers were to have given an answer within 15 days. However, they didn’t do
it. The human rights defender thinks that most probably the document wasn’t
published anywhere, that’s why they cannot give any answer.
