The Navapolatsk Town Court considered the administrative cases of the civil activists detained during the silent protest action on 13 July.

Aliaksandr Hrudnitski, who was detained together with his six-year-old son, was fined 700,000 rubles, Yauhen Kanstantsinau – 350,000 rubles and Aliaksei Trubkin – 700,000 rubles.

All of them were found guilty of violating Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, “participation in an unauthorized mass event”.

Some people wanted to come to the trial to confirm the innocence of the detainees. However, police officer Yury Peniaz didn’t let them in the court hall. After this they applied to the Chair of the court, but were answered that it was up to the judge to decide who can be let to the trial.

Aliaksei Trubkin stated that he had lodged a complaint with the Navapolatsk Town Procuracy concerning actions of the people in mufti who had tried to detain him yesterday. They didn’t introduce themselves and inflicted bodily injuries to him. Mr. Trubkin will also go to the forensic expertise in order to register the beating.
