On 11 August, Belarusian President Aliaksandr Lukashenka granted pardon to at least 4 persons convicted for alleged involvement in the 19 December 2010 mass riot.
According to the most recent information, the pardon ordered by Lukashenka includes Zmitser Drozd, Artsiom Hrybkou, Siarhei Kazakou and Andrei Pratasenia. All of them have been serving their terms in a penal colony in Babruisk.
Two more prisoners – Uladzimir Loban and Aliaksandr Klaskouski – are also believed to have been pardoned by the President.
