Andrius Kubilius, Prime Minister of the Lithuanian Republic, apologized for the “misunderstanding” that resulted in the arrest of Belarusian human rights defender Ales Bialiatski, the BelaPAN news agency reports, quoting www.delfi.lt.
According to Mr. Kubilius, the situation when “the Lithuanian Ministry of Justice disclosed Ales Bialiatski’s bank account details to the regime of Belarus” is a misunderstanding “to be regretted.”
“A very clear assessment has been given – we can only regret the misunderstanding and apologize to Bialiatski and his family”, says Mr. Kubilius.
