Human rights defender Tatsiana Raviaka is summonsed for interrogation
The Financial Investigations Department (FID) wants to
know whether she cooperated with the arrested Ales Bialiatski and what
relations she has to the Human
Rights Center
Viasna.
The interrogation will take place at 3 p.m. on 6 September. Today Tatsiana
intends to conduct an agreement with a lawyer.
Meanwhile, last week human rights defenders passed more than 800 personal
guarantees for Ales Bialiatski to the FID. According to Tatsiana Raviaka, some
of the guarantors have already received official answers from the
investigation.
Ales Bialiatski, vice-President of the International Federation for Human
Rights (FIDH) was detained by FID officers on 4 August. He is charged with
concealment of profits on an especially large scale (the case concerns the money
kept on his personal accounts abroad and spent on support to victims of
political repressions, including figurants events of 19 December 2010).
Bialiatski has been kept in the remand prison for a month already.
