Human rights defenders are trying to find the surnames of the 11 political prisoners who have been pardoned by Lukashenka’s order today: Aliaksandr Atroshchankau, Dzmitry Bulanau, Aleh Fedarkevich, Aliaksandr Klaskouski, Mikita Likhavid, Uladzimir Loban, Aliaksandr Malchanau, Fiodar Mirzayanau, Dzmitry Novik, Illia Vasilevich and Pavel Vinahradau.

Bear in mind that as a result of the two previous “fits of humanism” Lukashenka released 13 political prisoners.

9 of them were released on 11 August: Dzmitry Drozd, Artsiom Hrybkou, Siarhei Kazakou, Uladzimir Khamichenka, Ales Kviatkevich, Vital Matsukevich, Dzmitry Novik, Vasil Parfiankou, Yauhen Sakret and Uladzimir Yaromenak; 4 more – on 1 September: Zmitser Daronin, Aleh Hnedchyk, Ales Kirkevich and Andrei Pratasenia.

Thus, 15 persons imprisoned within the frameworks of the “19 December mass riot case” – Aliaksandr Atroshchankau, Zmitser Bandarenka, Dzmitry Bulanau, Aleh Fedarkevich, Aliaksandr Klaskouski, Mikita Likhavid, Uladzimir Loban, Aliaksandr Malchanau, Fiodar Mirzayanau, Dzmitry Novik, three former presidential candidates (Andrei Sannikau, Mikalai Statkevich, Dzmitry Uss), Pavel Vinahradau and Illia Vasilevich remained behind bars, as well as two activists of the Young Front who had been imprisoned for alleged beating of a passer-by, Zmitser Dashkevich and Eduard Lobau.
