BPF Party is evicted again
The owner of the premises has asked the BPF party to vacate its office by 1 October.
Owner of the premises on Krapotkin Street
rented by the BPF Party has offered the party to vacate the office by 1 October.
BelaPAN news agency learnt this from
the party head, Aliaksei Yanukevich.
He says the owner asks to “vacate the premises because he is going to sell it”.
“He explained his decision with personal reasons,” Yanukevich said.
Under the law, “the contract cannot be suspended in operation if the office is
offered for sale”, the party leader stresses adding that the BPF hopes to
“solve the matter in one way or another”.
“We continue to pay for rent and utility bills,” Yanukevich noted. “We do not
need to take any steps so far, but if the owner goes to court to terminate the
contract, we will respond.”
The party head says the office owner could make this decision himself, though
“there are no grounds to state this for sure”. “It’s always hard to sort out
such situations. We do not exclude that the owner has other reasons related to an
intention of the authorities to evict us from this office as well. But I repeat
that we do not have any grounds to say this is exactly so,” Yanukevich sums up.
The contract with the office owner was concluded for a period of 1 year and is
prolonged automatically if there are no complaints”.
We remind that on 26 July the BPF party was evicted officially from its
headquarters in Masherau Street,
though it had been renting the premises there since 1992. The new headquarters
on Krapotkin Street
was opened on 25 August.
